We recently returned from FNCE and had a blast seeing our colleagues, attending sessions on a range of hot topics, and hosting our very first FNCE event on behalf of our sponsors, California Walnuts and Riverence. We are so proud to partner with these brands who truly recognize and appreciate our work and impact as dietitians.
At our Chopped Culinary Challenge, three teams of dietitians had a chance to show off their kitchen skills and battle it out in a fast-paced cooking competition! With just 45 minutes on the clock, they put their talents to the test using a mystery basket of ingredients that included California Walnuts, Riverence steelhead trout, quinoa, and collard greens. Our MC extraordinaire, Carolyn O’Neil, MS, RDN, gave a play-by-play of all the kitchen creativity and brand representatives from our sponsors shared valuable information on new research, nutrition facts, cooking techniques and sustainability.

Then our esteemed panel of judges that included Breana Killeen, Raeanne Sarazen, and Barton Seaver tasted, shared feedback, and picked a winner. It was a very tough call for them because all of the dishes were absolutely delicious, but one kept them coming back for more! Congrats to Maya Feller, MS, RD, Sara Haas, RDN and Rosanne Rust, MS, RDN! We can’t wait to recreate their dish and share it with the CNC community.
